PERSIAN EMPIRE
559 - 330 BC


The ancient Persian Empire was founded by King Cyrus II the Great.

Cyrus' family, the Achaemenian Dynasty, provided the rulers for the Persian Empire.

Hence their empire is also called the Achaemenian Empire.
