Part of the Greco-Persian Wars was the First Persian Invasion, the Second Persian Invasion, and the Third Persian Invasion.

Who Fought?

Greece and Sparta vs. the Persian Empire.

The Greeks were in charge of the army, the Spartans were in charge of the navy.

 

Why Were the Persian Wars Fought?

By means of the Ionian Revolt, mainland Greece rebelled against Persian power. Persia was ready to straighten everyone out and started the Greco-Persian Wars.

The Peace of Callias in 449 BC concluded the Greco-Persian Wars.

 

Who Won?

Surprisingly, the Greeks.
