Charles was born and died in beautiful Vienna. He was crowned Holy Roman emperor in 1711.

Charles fought the War of the Spanish Succession and signed the Treaty of Rastatt.

Charles composed the Pragmatic Sanction. His famous daughter was Maria Theresa.
