What does Punic mean?



Who fought the Third Punic War?

The Carthaginian Empire against the Roman Republic.

After the First Punic War and the Second Punic War, Rome came down heavy on the Carthaginians in 150 BC and the latter felt compelled to take up arms again. The Third Punic war begun.



Who WON the Third Punic War?

Rome won the Third Punic War and made sure Carthage would never be able to start a fourth Punic War.

Carthage was taken and destroyed in 146 BC, and the Carthaginian territory was made a Roman province.

Destroyer of Carthage and Soldier of the Month was Scipio the Younger.


Thus, Rome won all three Punic wars.
