CHARLES III THE SIMPLE
879 - 929

A member of the Carolingians, Charles was king of France 893 - 922.

Charles' father was Louis II the Stammerer. Charles' brothers were Carloman and Louis III.

Charles had a bad year in 922 when the nobles were fed up with him as a king and elected Robert king instead.

Charles killed Robert in battle but was taken prisoner by Herbert. Herbert was the count of Vermandois.
