Caroline Bonaparte, 1782 - 1839
CAROLINE BONAPARTE
1782 - 1839

Caroline was born in Ajaccio on Corsica. Her original Italian name was Maria Nunziata Carolina Buonaparte. In French pubs people called her Marie Annociade Caroline Bonaparte, or simply little baby sister of the boss.

Like her brother Napoleon I, Caroline was equally determined to get what she wanted.

Caroline's brother married her to Joachim Murat, a solider.

QUEEN CAROLINE
Napoleon decided it was a good idea to put all relatives he could get a hold of on thrones around him.

In 1808, he chose his sister Caroline to become Queen of Naples. She gladly accepted but in 1815 she had to pack her bags again because the Austrians ran over her kingdom and her husband got executed.

Caroline Bonaparte fled to Trieste and was henceforth known in local pubs as Comtesse de Lipona.
