ANSEGISEL

Ansegisel was the eldest son of Arnulf of Metz and his wife Doda.

He married Begga, daughter of Pepin I the Elder.

Together they had a son, Pepin II of Herstal.

Neustria's king Chlovis II executed Ansegisel because of his involvement in the plot of Grimoald to take over the throne of Austrasia. However, what the father couldn't get done his son finished. See more under Pepin II.
