MERIWETHER LEWIS
1774 - 1809

As we all know, Meriwether Lewis was, together with buddy William Clark, checking out the territory of the Louisiana Purchase. The expedition led them all the way to the Pacific coast. The expedition was made in the years 1804 until 1806.

Meriwether was the head of the expedition, selected by Thomas Jefferson himself. William Clark was Meriwether's choice as co-leader.
