Joseph Stalin dies.

The Politburo is eager to end the war. Mao Zedong is miffed but knows he doesn't have much of a chance without the help of the Soviet Union.

 

July 27, 1953
Armistice signed at Panmunjom. Mark W. Clark signed for the UNC, Peng Dehuai for the Chinese, and Kim-Il-sung for the North Koreans.
