THE GLORIOUS REVOLUTION
1688 - 1689


The Glorious Revolution was provoked by King James II's being Roman Catholic.

The year of 1688 saw the expulsion of James II. William of Orange is made King of England. James takes refuge at the French court, and Louis undertakes to restore him. General war in the west of Europe.


The outcome of the GLORIOUS revolution
Ever since the Glorious Revolution, Parliament is the ruling power in England.
