Russo-Swedish War
1788 - 1790

King Gustav III of Sweden wasn't happy with his country's borders. The borders between Sweden and Russia had been defined in 1743 by means of the Treaty of Åbo. Gustav didn't like the treaty either.

He secured some British muscle and felt strong enough to declare war on mighty Russia. He wasn't. The Swedes lost. The borders remained according to the agreement of the Treaty of Åbo.

The Treaty of Värälä settled the deal.
