NORMAN CONQUEST
1066 - 1154

The issues behind the Norman Conquest were that of the succession to the English throne after Edward the Confessor had died, promising both, Harold Godwinson and William of Normandy the inheritance.

Harold was crowned king Harold II and William came over from the continent to have a serious talk. They met at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. William had the stronger arguments.

The Norman Conquest more or less ended in 1154 when Henry II, aka Henry Plantagenet, became king of England.
