Battle of WAGRAM
JULY 5 - 6, 1809


The Battle of Wagram was part of the Austrian War, which in turn was part of the Napoleonic Wars.

France, led by Napoleon I, fought Austria, led by Archduke Charles. The French won, Austria lost and had to sign the Treaty of Schönbrunn.


Troops engaged:
154,000 French, 158,000 Austrian


Casualties:
France 34,000, Austria 40,000.
