MUHAMMAD II
1429 - 1481


Muhammad II, or Mehmet II, was also called Muhammad the Conqueror.

He was sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1444 - 1446 and again from 1451 - 1481.


1453 - Constantinople was taken, and the Roman empire of the East
was destroyed by the Turkish Sultan Mahomet II (Muhammad).
