History Notes - Josephine de Beauharnais

Joséphine de Beauharnais
1763 - 1814

Josephine was a girl from Martinique and became Napoleon Bonaparte's girl in 1796. Jo had been previously married to one Alexandre de Beauharnais and together with this Alexandre she had two children: Hortense and Eugène. Hortense later married Napoleon III.

Josephine's original name was Marie-Josèphe-Rose Tascher de La Pagerie and her parents weren't rich.
