The Strategic Arms Reduction Talks (START) were a continuation of disarmament negotiations between the US and the Soviet Union (see SALT I AND SALT II.)

START I was signed in 1991 by George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev.

START II was signed in 1993 by George Bush and Boris Yeltsin.
