BATTLE OF BOTHWELL BRIDGE
June 22, 1679

 

In the battle of Bothwell Bridge, the Covenanters (Scottish Presbyterians) fought government forces and lost.

James Scott, the duke of Monmouth, was leading the government forces. Fighting side by side with James Scott was John Graham, aka Bonnie Dundee.

Donald Cargill was fighting on the site of the rebels.
