SCYTHIANS

Pronounce SCYTHIAN

The Scythians, also called Iranians, were ancient nomadic people who settled in Scythia after they kicked out the former inhabitants there, which were the Cimmerians.

Scythia is today's Crimea.

Their language was Scythian.

When did the Scythians settled in Scythia?
In the 8th and 7th centuries BC.

The Scythians were as rich as all get out, knew how to ride a horse, and they certainly knew how to fight. Which explains the degree of wealth.

It went downhill with the Scythians from the 4th century BC onwards.

Herodotus tells us a thing or two about the Scythians after his visit there.
