The Last Tsar -
Nicholas II
Nikolay Aleksandrovich was the last Czar of
Russia, ruling as
Nicholas II from 1894-1917, which
made
World War One
one of his many problems.
Nicholas' wife was
Alexandra,
or more to the point Aleksandra Fyodorovna. The
two got married in 1894. Before the marriage,
Alexandra used to be Alix, the German Princess
of Hesse-Darmstadt.
Nicholas and
Alexandra had five children, four girls and a
boy.
The daughters were
Tatiana,
Olga,
Maria,
Anastasia,
and the son was wee
Alexis. Alexis, also spelled Aleksey
or Aleksei, would have been the heir.
Nicholas' brother
was Grand Duke Michael, by the way.
