Charles was the Emperor of
Austria from 1916 to 1918 and, as
Charles IV, the King of Hungary.

Charles was a member of the
Habsburg Dynasty and
their last ruler.
He was the great-nephew of
Emperor Francis Joseph I.
Charles' father was
Archduke Otto.
Charles died in exile on Madeira.
