War of Greek Independence
1821 - 1832

The War of Greek Independence brought the Greeks exactly that, their independence from the Ottoman Empire.

In the Treaty of Constantinople from July 1832, the Turks officially recognized the Greek monarchy. As monarch, the Greeks picked Prince Otto of Bavaria.

The naval Battle of Navarino on October 20, 1827, was part of this war.
