HERODOTUS
484 BC - 425 BC

Herodotus (pronunciation ) is often called the Father of Historians or Father of History because of his reports and writings on the war between Persia and Greece (the Greco-Persian Wars), which were fought from 500 B.C. to 479 B.C.

Herodotus was born in Halicarnassus, Asia Minor, which might be your Bodrum in Turkey today.

Where did the Etruscans come from? Herodotus attempted to answer this question and was of the opinion that after the Trojan War the Etruscans migrated from Lydia, today's western Turkey. Today, not many scholars agree with this theory.
