HOWARD CARTER
1873 - 1939

You want an Egyptologist turn green of envy, mention the name Howard Carter. And here is why. In 1922, British archaeologist Howard Carter uncovered the tomb of the Egyptian king Tutankhamen.

The kicker? The tomb was pretty much untouched.

From 1902 - 1922, Howard was busy excavating in the Valley of the Kings, in Luxor, Egypt. He also found the tombs of Hatshepsut, Thutmose IV, and Amenophis I, topping it off, of course, with the tomb of Tutankhamen.

After that, he was busy bringing Tutankhamen and all his stuff into the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
